But in November 2017, the Australian Advertising Claims Board ruled a similar declaration in Australia – that the mattress was "Australia's highest rated mattress" – was misleading. Koala changed its wording to "Australia's highest rated mattress brand". Koala head of communications Matthew Overington said the company's marketing pitch as "New Zealand's highest rated mattress" was fair and accurate.
