Citing the notice, four rapes took place in a month in the district. On Wednesday afternoon, prime suspect of a gang rape and robbery case, Nurul Amin, was produced before the Khagrachhari Senior Judicial Magistrate’s Court. Judge Sejuti Jannat put Nurul on a two-day remand after police prayed to the court to for a seven-day remand, confirmed Muhammad Rashid, officer-in-charge (OC) of Khagrachhari Sadar police station. Meanwhile, Tripura Students Forum and Bangladesh Marma Students’ Council have been demonstrating in Khagrachhari town demanding justice for all rape survivors in the district and for exemplary punishment of the perpetrators.
