Swansea City are close to signing Finland midfielder Leo Walta from Swedish club Sirius. Walta has been permission to travel to Wales for a medical and should complete a move to Swansea before Monday's transfer deadline. The 22-year-old, who was first linked with the Swans last summer, managed an impressive tally of 16 goals in 30 appearances in the 2025 Swedish top-flight season having netted seven times in 2024. Head coach Vitor Matos has made an attacking midfield player his top priority in the final stages of the mid-season window, though Swansea could also bring in a centre-back. Swansea striker Bobby Wales, meanwhile, is poised to join League One Huddersfield Town on loan for the rest of the season.
