To the Editor:I continue to have very strong concerns about the proposed apartment complex at 27 Abbott. In particular, I am concerned about the enormous amount of water (potentially 600,000 gallons per year) that will now be falling onto a totally impervious surface. But I am concerned about how short duration and high intensity storms will be handled by the proposed system. If the developer claims that the proposed system can handle such a short duration/high intensity rainfall, could the developer please provide calculations which prove that? The article is very clear that intensifying rains could pose hidden flood risks across the United States.
