A fund-raising effort has been launched to support a troupe of young dancers who have qualified to compete at the European and World Cup Acrobatic Rock and Roll Dance Championships to be held in Russia this month. Four pairs of dancers have qualified to participate in the competition in Sochi, the venue of the 2014 Winter Olympics on the Black Sea coast. According to Daria Dominik AnastazjaLena Baksalary, a parent of one of the dancers, this is an opportunity of a lifetime for the youngsters. Mikolaj and Maja Muzyk who are in Kanturk are in the Under 14 category while Millstreet pair Filip Turek Filip and Turek Filip and Baksalary Anastazja Baksalary Anastazja are competing in the Under 12 section. "The children have been training hard for this and have been without real competition for over a year," said Daria.
