Revenue for 1QFY17 climbed 40% to RM271.4 million from RM193.8 million a year ago, said Magni-Tech in a bourse filing today. "Garment revenue in the current quarter soared by 46.1% mainly due to higher orders received, aided by favourable foreign exchange differences. Packaging revenue also recorded an increase of 6.3% due to higher orders received," it said. "The key factors that affect the performance of garment business include labour costs, other operating costs, foreign exchange differences, demand for the garments and the ability of management to cope with change. "Both the garment and packaging businesses are expected to remain profitable for the current financial year," it said.
