In order to curb the spread of novel coronavirus cases in the state and enhance the vaccination drive, Maharashtra cabinet minister Aslam Shaikh on Tuesday cautioned against lifting coronavirus-induced curbs without completing vaccination of half the adult population in the state. He said lifting curbs without inoculating 50 per cent of the adult population against COVID-19 in Maharashtra, where lockdown-like restrictions are in place till June 1, may lead to a fresh wave of the infection. “The state COVID-19 task force is going to discuss all the aspects at its review meetings. This is the sixth successive day that the daily new cases of Covid-19 in Maharashtra remained below the 30,000-mark. The patients from these districts will have to go to a quarantine center, won't be allowed home isolation," said Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope.
