Mamata Banerjee seeks PM Modi’s resignation over silence on Pakistan threat to Kolkata - Telegraph India

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was on Monday targeted by West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee, who questioned his silence over a reported statement from Pakistan and called for his resignation. Addressing election rallies in Nadia and Purba Bardhaman districts, Mamata said, “You (PM) target Bengal during election rallies; but when Pakistan talks of attacking Bengal, you do not utter a word. You should resign.”ADVERTISEMENTReferring to Modi’s recent rally in Cooch Behar, she asked, “Why did the prime minister not raise the issue during his rally in Bengal? “They (BJP) are placing their own officers in prominent positions in West Bengal to ensure their free movement,” she said. On electoral rolls, Mamata alleged that the voter list used in the 2024 elections had been discarded ahead of the Assembly polls.
