A 20-year-old man died after the walls of a sand quarry he was working in collapsed in Kanyabande village, Homa Bay county. The body of Collins Owino was retrieved from the collapsed scene long after the incident had happened on Monday afternoon. Locals told police the victim was with other quarry workers when the incident happened. The workers reportedly ventured into the quarry with no protection gear, which exposed them to the dangers. Police said at least three electrocution incidents are reported in a week in the country, which they term alarming.
