Fernandes, 26, has become United's most important player since arriving from Sporting Lisbon in a £47million deal in January. Fernandes was named the fans' player of the year last season despite arriving halfway through the campaign. He is desperately to add to a trophy collection that currently stands at one Portuguese Cup medal and two Portuguese League Cups. Fernandes has scored seven goals and picked up three assists in just nine Premier League games this season.
