United earmarked Sancho as a priority signing when Jose Mourinho was still at the helm, and have maintained their long-standing interest in the versatile winger. A year on and United have, emphatically, had the last laugh, signing Sancho at a reduced cost of £72.9m and announcing the deal with a pointed ‘You love to see it’ message of their own. ‘The chance to join Manchester United is a dream come true and I just cannot wait to perform in the Premier League.
