A man has been arrested in Sabrata after allegedly setting his wife on fire following threats to kill her, in an incident that has sparked widespread shock, police said. The Criminal Investigation Department in Sabrata said the woman was taken the hospital with burn injuries and remains under medical supervision. Authorities said the hospital’s protection unit assisted investigators in securing the suspect and facilitating his arrest inside the medical facility. Police confirmed the man has been placed in custody and will be referred to the public prosecution for further investigation.
