SEREMBAN: A 62-year-old man has claimed trial before Sessions Court judge Surita Budin to three counts of possessing explosive substances and another charge of using an improvised explosive device (IED) with the intent of causing injury to others. Yeoh Hock Sun was charged on Friday (Jan 9) while still warded at the Tuanku Ja'afar Hospital. He also pleaded not guilty to a fifth charge of causing damage to a pick-up truck after an IED allegedly in his possession detonated. For the fourth charge, Yeoh was accused of using an offensive weapon with the intent to cause harm. The accused was charged under Section 4 of the same Act, which carries a jail term of up to three years and whipping upon conviction.
