An 83-year-old man from West Prince, P.E.I., is dead following a car accident near Tignish Tuesday morning, say RCMP. The driver was alone in the car, which went off the road on Route 14 in Christopher Cross, sometime around 11:30 a.m. After leaving the road the vehicle struck a tree. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. A section of Route 14 between Hogan Road and Broderick Road was closed for traffic for about three hours while the on scene investigation was conducted. Police have not ruled out a health issue as the cause of the accident.
