In a complaint to the DCP, Nazer C. from Kannur district in Kerala alleged that his daughter’s engagement was cancelled due to his detention. Nazer said that the ACP and his squad accused him of cheating a businessman named Nasir and told him that a complaint had been filed against him in J.B. Nagar police station. The police threatened to imprison him if he did not pay up, he alleged in the complaint. The J.B. Nagar police released him after recording his statement and told him to return the money. “There was a case against the complainant, Nazer, in J.B. Nagar police station for allegedly cheating a businessmen.
