The man killed earlier today in an armoured car robbery was the former roommate of convicted killer Thomas Svekla. Police say Munian and another suspect approached the armoured truck guards, pepper sprayed them and demanded cash, but the tactic didn't work. Edmonton police confirmed Randy James Munian was killed by a gunshot wound to the torso early Friday. They believe he was one of two suspects involved in the botched robbery attempt.
