Martin Lewis energy bill update is cause for optimism
The Money Saving Expert gave the optimistic prediction on the Martin Lewis Money Show Live on ITV. On the episode, Martin said sources had told him that “prices are not going up”. Last week, Ofgem announced that the energy price cap will be reduced by around £1,000 to £3,280, effective from April 1. This was due to Government plans which proposed an increase to the energy price guarantee on the same date, meaning energy bills would rise by 20%. Though he quickly corrected himself saying: “Prices are NOT going up, sorry let me correct myself, prices are NOT going up in April.
