Visitors to Bay of Plenty's Matakana Island were greeted with piles of a barbed wire and a sign saying "Bugga Off!" Ryan Wood Signs telling people to "bugga off" were left along with a pile of debris at a Matakana Island wharf. Stone said cruises were continuing as normal but no stops were made to Matakana Island. "We're aware of a protest on Matakana Island that looks like it wants to restrict public access from the wharf to the land," he said.
