In its latest surveillance report, the health department reported that there are now 26,956 measles cases reported from January 1 to March 30. “The Region had historically low levels of measles cases and no major outbreaks in 2017. So far, there are only nine countries and areas in the Western Pacific Region that have been verified to have eliminated measles.
