The Curtain will have 120 rooms, making it much larger than most of the hotels attached to private clubs. London, with a long history of private clubs, offers possibly the densest variety of options. The hotel is just one of many that offers guests temporary membership to their private club – for a price, of course. The Gansevoort Hotel group is planning to open a new private club and hotel in Shoreditch this summer. Soho House is a private members club that started in London and now has offshoots around the world (including Toronto).
