Shopping malls in Metro Manila will open at 11 am instead of the usual opening time of 10 am. This is part of the agreement reached by the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and the mall owners. The plan is meant to ease traffic congestion in the streets during rush hours and in view of the forthcoming Christmas season. Trucks and vans that are delivering supplies to the malls should also bring in their goods between 11 pm to 5 pm only. MMDA and mall operators have also agreed that in November, there will be no mall-wide sales from Monday to Friday.
