Last week, prosecutors said, Avenatti told Nike that if the demands were not met, “I’ll go take ten billion dollars off your client’s market cap. Prosecutors said Avenatti threatened to expose Nike to the kind of controversy that has plagued competitor Adidas. After Avenatti brought his alleged demands to Nike last week, the Boies Schiller lawyers responded by calling federal prosecutors.
