But Arteta has played down those mistakes as the debate over Arsenal’s goalkeeping situation rumbles on. ‘If you look at his form and what he has achieved since he’s been with us, it’s really, really impressive,’ Arteta said about Raya before the trip to Aston Villa. I have three great goalkeepers, and I’m really happy… We have to support our players in the best possible way. Raya joined Arsenal on loan from Brentford in the summer and is set to complete a £27m move to the Emirates in 2024.
