Ministerial Advisory Committee (MAC) members have said that Health Minister Zweli Mkhize's warning of a third wave is meant as a wake-up call to relaxed South Africans. In a communication that was widely distributed on Wednesday, Mkhize said: "Kindly note that the Covid-19 positive cases are rising rapidly. For all intents and purposes, we are in a third wave, even if not fitting in a technical definition. The numbers will no longer go down, other than if we start intensive containment measures."
