The southwest monsoon may sgain spawn heavy rains that will affect western Visayas this time, according to the weather bureau. “That can bring moderate to occasionally heavy rain to the Visayas’ western areas, so communities there must prepare for this possibility,” she said. “However, those tropical cyclones have a low chance of entering and are too far to enhance the southwest monsoon’,” she said. Saludes said one of the tropical cyclones may move northward, creating in the Pacific conditions that can lead to the formation of an LPA. However, communities in the western section of the Visayas should brace for the possible formation of an LPA and an enhanced southwest monsoon.
