Mosaic Templars Cultural CenterLittle Rock’s Mosaic Templars Cultural Center unveiled a new permanent exhibition space last weekend to help celebrate its 15th anniversary, and it’s getting national attention. Included are details related to the founders and history of the Mosaic Templars, Black businesses in Arkansas, Black legislators, and the state’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Religion, music–Sister Rosetta Tharpe and Al Green–and African American foodways are shared. This year also marks the 140th anniversary of the Mosaic Templars of America, a Black fraternal organization founded in Little Rock in 1883. Mosaic Templars Cultural Center is located at its former headquarters at the intersection of 9th and Broadway.
