M'sian terrorist Dr Mahmud Ahmad believed killed in Marawi fighting


KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's most wanted terrorist, Dr Mahmud Ahmad, is believed to have been killed in fighting in Marawi on Mindanao island. The Associated Press reported Philippine military chief General Eduardo Ano as saying that Mahmud was wounded in battle and died of his wounds on June 7. It was reported that Philippine troops, with the help of civilians, are trying to recover Mahmud's remains to validate the intelligence received. Another militant leader, Omarkhayam Maute, is also believed dead. Mahmud is said to have channelled more than 30 million pesos from the Islamic State to acquire firearms and other supplies for the attack in Marawi.
