SIBU: A 42-year-old teacher has been charged with sodomising a former student at a budget hotel in Mukah. Bobby Sebli was alleged to have committed the offence on the 13-year-old victim between 11am and noon on May 14. The charge provides for a jail sentence of between five and 20 years and whipping upon conviction. The accused was arrested on June 15 at a rural school in Kapit where he was teaching, following a report by the victim. He was also ordered not to meet or call the victim and to report to the police once in two weeks.
