Monrovia – The Liberia Muslim Women Network in collaboration with other Muslim organizations have joined the world over in celebrating the World Hijab Day from across six counties, including Montserrado, Bassa, Bomi and Grand Cape Mount, Bong and Maryland Counties. She said this year’s Global Theme: is titled: “Strong in Hijab” while the National Theme is titled: “Strong with Hijab,” thus demonstrating the strength of women wearing the veil. “We are women and our Hijab is our pride and our way of life, we used this day to celebrate ourselves as women in Hijab and making others feel the life of us wearing the veil,” she maintained. According to scholars, the Hijab reserved the dignity of women in the religion, reduce insecurity from men and many others, the World Hijab Day is also used to showcase the freedom and traditional aspect of veil to those participating countries. Therefore the day is also in recognition of those millions of women across the world that chose to wear the Hijab and live a life of modesty.
