NASA’s LRO captures Chandrayaan-3 landing site on the Moon


September 06, 2023 12:10 pm | Updated 12:29 pm IST - BengaluruNational Aeronautics and Space Administration’s (NASA) Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) has spotted the Chandrayaan-3 Lander Module landing site on the surface of the Moon, and captured its picture. NASA stated: “The ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization) Chandrayaan-3 touched down on the Moon on August 23, 2023. The Chandrayaan-3 landing site is located about 600 kilometres from the South Pole of the Moon. The LROC (short for LRO Camera) acquired an oblique view (42-degree slew angle) of the lander four days later. The Luna 25 suffered a glitch due to which it crashed on the lunar surface on August 19.
