The NRL has officially gone global, with a massive marketing campaign hitting New York's famous Time Square along with rumoured plans to purchase the English Super League and take more games to the United States. ARLC Chairman Peter V'landys is hopeful the gambit will unlock a new audience in the United States along with a new international betting market. The next step could be to bring UK-based Super League sides to the United States, with News Corp reporting that the NRL is considering buying the English competition. To take a Super League game there, as well, would generate a lot more people coming from England to the US,' Vlandys said. There are also plans to take NRLW games to the United States in the future.
