Scientists predict that in a warmer world, these types of consequences will become the new normal — or the new abnormal. Some trees have been burnt to the point of no return, nothing left of them but a pile of charred dust. Here and there, small bits of new green leaves fight their way through. The natural world isn’t calm or peaceful.
