About 5.94 million people are expected to be on the move in and out of the city during the Lunar New Year festive period from Friday until next Thursday, the Immigration Department estimated. About 74 percent, or 4.42 million, will cross land boundary control points. The number of outbound and inbound passengers using land boundary control points will be relatively higher on Sunday and next Tuesday, with around 367,000 and 451,000 passengers respectively. About 1.38 million, or about 196,000 every day, are expected to travel via Lo Wu.
