SHAH ALAM: The Selangor state government has denied allegation of an exorbitant Temporary Occupation Licence (TOL) charge on fish farm operators in Pulau Ketam, Klang. "Based on the report, fish farmers in Pulau Ketam were said to have been burdered by high TOL fee of RM2 per sq ft, which costs them between RM60,000 and RM100,000 a year. Based on that, he said the maximum TOL charge that have to be paid by operator of the largest fish farm there was only RM8,000 a year. Zaidy said he would organise a meeting with the fish farm operators soon to explain about the TOL charge and listen to their grouses. He also urged fish farmers to refer to the authorities so that they can get accurate information, and avoid misunderstanding.
