An Air Canada passenger jet is seen landing at Pearson International Airport last year. Midtown Toronto residents upset by the sound of airplanes flying over their neighbourhood might soon be enjoying quieter skies. The Star has learned that following complaints, Nav Canada, the private company that operates the country’s civil air navigation service, has decided to conduct a third-party review of the airspace around Pearson International Airport. The exact flight paths into and out of Pearson -- and the noise they generate -- will now be examined in the wake of complaints from midtown Torontonians. In March, Best told the Star that 86,000 aircraft pass over the homes of some residents each year.
