Ogun, MTN collaborate to end maternal mortality in Nigeria


Mama no go die again, pikin no go die again, because I get yellow heart” was chorused by pregnant women and nursing mothers at the launch of the Yellow Heart Initiative by MTN Foundation in Ogun State recently. This collaboration with the leading telecommunications company is a part of the resolve of the Ogun State Government to put an end to infant and maternal mortality, beginning with the state and extending to the entire country. In a bid to ensure the safety of mother and child in the state, the Yellow Heart Health Foundation expressed its readiness to join forces with the state government to reduce maternal and child mortality by increasing awareness in Nigeria. Expressing the appreciation of the state government, the commissioner for Health, Ogun State, Dr Babatunde Ipaye, thanked the MTN Foundation for the Yellow Heart Initiative and other impactful projects, commissioned by the foundation in the state. After partnering with Ogun State, The Yellow Heart Initiative, which was launched in Abuja recently, will also spread to five other states including Oyo, Abia, kaduna, Niger and Cross-River.
