The Edmonton Oil Kings didn’t get to the top of their division this year by protecting leads and running out the clock. And while any coach will tell you they’d rather have to rein their players in than have to push them to get aggressive on offence, the Oil Kings coaching staff has basically let go of those reins, to some pretty impressive results. “It sometimes makes you pull your hair out as a coach a little bit, but that’s the way our guys are,” said Oil Kings assistant coach Luke Pierce. “There’s a little bit of risk involved, but I think you can’t change who you are.
