Ombudsman received almost 300 complaints from Cork during 2020


Figures released in its annual report have shown that almost 300 complaints, were made by people in Cork to the Office of the Ombudsman over the course of 2020. In his report ombudsman Peter Tyndall, who is set to retire after eight-years in the role, revealed that a 292 complaints received by his office last year emanated from Cork. This represented almost 9% of the total number of 3,418 complaints made to the ombudsman, with the most number being made by people in Dublin (774). "The level of complaints received shown an initial drop but then returned to pre-Covid levels. I am pleased to say that despite the challenges, we closed more complaints than we received during the year," said My Tyndall.
