The World Bank on Tuesday said for the Philippines to sustain its growth goals, the government must triple the per capita income in 20 years. When it comes to climate and disaster policies, the World Bank official believes that “the country has done very well,” citing the prompt government response during the eruption of Taal Volcano in January. But he said the country “is still unprepared to deal with the potentially massive consequences of climate change. The Philippines will not achieve Ambisyon Natin by simply riding its current way for success and decisions for the country. The Philippines will have to start new chapters and continue its reforms efforts in order to achieve its goal for 2040,” Fock said.
