PM Najib welcomes relaunch of Bangsamoro peace deal


Najib said Malaysia would remain committed to the peace process for as long as desired. KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has welcomed the relaunch of the Bangsamoro peace deal here today, saying it would pave to the way for a peaceful solution to the decades-long conflict in Mindanao, the Philippines. Najib was represented by Deputy Defence Minister Datuk Seri Johari Baharom at the launch of the Implementing Phase of the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro. Also in attendance was Philippines Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process Jesus Dureza, MILF Chairman AlHaj Murad Ebrahim, Facilitator of the Peace Process Tengku Datuk Ab Ghaffar Tengku Mohamed, and representatives of both parties including the Philippines Congress House speaker, Senate President, government officials, and MILF members. “I am very pleased that members of the Government of the Philippines’ new implementing panel and representatives of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front are meeting in Kuala Lumpur... to formally relaunch the Implementing Phase of the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro.
