PM axes Phiphat as his war centre headFinance Minister Ekniti Nitithanprapas, also deputy prime minister, will head the Middle East war monitoring centre, replacing Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn. Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul will appoint Ekniti Nitithanprapas to head the Middle East war monitoring centre, replacing Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, in a move aimed at easing public concern. He added Mr Ekniti would also oversee the Energy Ministry to strengthen confidence in energy management during the Middle East war. Mr Phiphat defended his position, insisting he had distanced himself from his family's energy business, PTG Energy Plc, for more than 20 years. The prime minister said Mr Phiphat had submitted his resignation as head of the centre before the new cabinet was formed following public criticism over his family's oil business, but he did not approve, as Mr Phiphat is capable and experienced.
