KUALA LUMPUR (May 18): Department of Director General of Lands and Mines Federal Territories (PPTGWP) has solved the process of converting all 1,327 fractional title deeds for old buildings in Kuala Lumpur to computerised strata titles, involving 62 housing and commercial schemes. The Federal Territories Survey and Mapping Department also played a role and provided assistance to update all existing title deeds, in line with the Strata Titles Act 1985. “The conversion work was done under Strata Titles (Conversion of Subsidiary Title to Strata Title) (Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur) Rules 2020 which was gazetted by the government on June 11, 2020,” he said in a statement here today. “With this conversion, title searches can be requested and procured online, including payment of parcel rent. Legal provision under the Strata Title Act and the Strata Management Act can also be used compared to previously,” he said.
