The stock market breached the 6,100 level on Tuesday after the government announced that Metro Manila and four other provinces would no longer be under modified enhanced community quarantine starting today. The year-on-year improvement in remittances from overseas Filipino workers in June also helped the market gain, according to Tantiangco. Managing Director Luis Limlingan also agreed that sentiment improved on the GCQ news. Wall Street rallied overnight, with the S&P 500 and Nasdaq gaining 0.27 percent and 1 percent, respectively. Total volume turnover was at 9.76 billion shares, valued at P5.96 billion.
