Panthers lose Huberdeau up to four months with ankle injury

The Florida Panthers ended their pre-season with a win over the New Jersey Devils — and a huge loss. Huberdeau, in obvious pain, needed help to get off the ice and to the locker room for further evaluation. The Panthers confirmed Sunday that Huberdeau will be out for three to four months. Huberdeau signed a six-year, $35.4-million contract extension in September and is coming off a career-best 59-point season. Panthers coach Gerard Gallant moved Jon Marchessault to the top line with Jaromir Jagr and Aleksander Barkov in the absence of the 23-year-old Huberdeau.
