KUALA LUMPUR: National para athletes continued to do the nation proud at the Rio Paralympics with long jumper Abdul Latif Romly delivering Malaysia's third gold of the games in a commanding performance today. Latif broke his own world record three times en route to winning the men's long jump T20 (intellectual disability) event at the Olympic Stadium. Croatian Zoran Talic and Ukraine's Dmytro Prudnikov finished a distant second and third on 7.12m and 6.99m respectively. Ridzuan won the nation's first ever Paralympic gold after winning the men's 100m T36 (cerebral palsy) sprint in a time of 12.07 seconds, a new Paralympic record. Ziyad broke the world record twice en route to winning the men's shot put F20 (intellectual disability) with a final throw of 16.84m.
