Nike shoes PexelsThe petition demands the design be removed from the market as soon as possibleSome Muslims have laid heavy criticism on superstar sportswear company Nike for selling a brand of sneakers with a design on its sole that resembles the Arabic word for "Allah". The sports giant is being asked to recall the sneakers, with people saying Nike has “insulted Islam”, reports the Jakarta Post. The outrage began when Muslim customer Saiga Noreen noticed what she believed was the Arabic word for Allah on the shoe. Shortly afterward she launched an online petition, demanding that the company remove the popular shoe from its worldwide market. @Nike act #blasphemous by writing #Allah on "Air Max 270 Trainers".
