Share TweetBy Francis WakefieldThe Philippine Navy (PN) said that it has re-designated three of its Del Pilar class vessels from frigates to patrol ships to better reflect their limited capabilities. The Philippine Navy, it was recalled, has three patrol ships in its class. The Philippine Navy said they expect the first frigate to be delivered in 2020 while the second one to be delivered by 2021. Lorenzana said the frigates will be named BRP Jose Rizal, the country’s national hero, and BRP Antonio Luna, one of the country’s foremost military general.
