Piñol: NIA 8 chief has to goCatbalogan City, Samar — Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel Piñol has assured the relief of National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Eastern Visayas Regional Manager Romeo Go Quiza after local officials complained about unfinished irrigation projects in their areas. He said Quiza should not make Super Typhoon Yolanda as the perennial excuse for the unfinished irrigation projects in Basey, Samar, and Catubig Valley in Northern Samar. Piñol has directed Quiza to visit him in Manila to explain his side. Catubig Valley is also the rice granary of Northern Samar. Once improved, its irrigation facilities can supply enough rice to Tacloban City and the entire Samar.
