Pinoy short to compete abroadDexter Macaraeg (Facebook)Dexter Macaraeg’s first short film, “Balitok (Gold),” is set to compete in three international film festivals. “Balitok (Gold)” will be competing with 47 international films at the Barcelona Planet Film Festival under the Best Narrative Short Film category. The film will also grace the 6th iPhone Film Festival in California on Nov. 11. The film was part of Macaraeg’s activities as participant in Brillante Mendoza’s Film Workshop Batch 3 under the directing class. As part of festival rules, 70 percent of the competing film must be shot with a mobile device.
