KATHMANDU: A Nepal Airlines Corporation jet lost one of its wheels on the runway shortly after landing at Tribhuvan International Airport on Tuesday. “The runway suffered minor damage.”Controllers suspect that the wheel detached from the aircraft on landing when the brakes were applied. “The damaged wheel will be repaired by Wednesday.”According to Indian media reports, another Nepal Airlines plane made an emergency landing at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi on Sunday. The reports said one of the plane's tyres had burst after landing, forcing it to stop on the taxiway. Following Tuesday’s incident, both the A320s of Nepal Airlines have been grounded.
